中國科學(xué)院西雙版納熱帶植物園大型獸類多樣性與保護研究組（Megafauna Ecology and Conservation Group, MEC）于2020年初成立，組長為西班牙籍熱帶保護生態(tài)學(xué)家Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz研究員。研究組注重于大型獸類尤其是大象的生態(tài)和保護研究，同時進行中國乃至整個亞洲熱帶地區(qū)的大型獸類棲息地的研究和保護。研究目的是促進對人類-野生動物相互關(guān)系的了解，同時通過循證方法致力于將人類與野生動物的沖突關(guān)系轉(zhuǎn)為共存關(guān)系。

The Megafauna Ecology and Conservation (MEC) group, at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Yunnan, was formed in 2020 and is led by Professor Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz. MEC’s mission is to generate useful knowledge and translate it to the policy and practice domains for the conservation of Asia’s megafauna beyond the 21st century. We achieve this by conducting research on two broad topics: (1) unveiling megafauna’s impacts on ecosystem function through processes such as herbivory and seed dispersal, and (2) understanding the drivers of human-megafauna conflicts and promoting science-based strategies for coexistence. Our main focus species are Asian elephants and our geographical scope covers from lowland Nepal to Sumatra, including Laos, Malaysia, and SW China. As of 2023, MEC has 14 members from seven different countries. MEC is affiliated with XTBG’s Center for Integrative Conservation (CIC) and the Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI), all part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

二、崗位職責和應(yīng)聘條件 Job Responsibilities and Position Requirements

1.崗位職責Responsibilities

主要協(xié)調(diào)研究組的管理、行政、協(xié)調(diào)和文書工作。在會議、演講、項目申請、報告和其他場合為組長（PI）和其他研究組外籍人員翻譯，參與科學(xué)交流活動，促進科學(xué)成果的宣傳和與政策制定者的合作交流，協(xié)助組長和其他外籍研究人員開展研究和其他活動。

● Coordinating the management, administration, coordination, and paperwork, including but not limited to financial management, student management for the group.

● Translating and interpreting for the Principal Investigator (PI) and other MEC faculty at meetings, presentations, grant applications, reports, and others.

● Taking part in science communication activities to spread the groups research result to broader audiences.

● Assisting the PI and other MEC members with research and other activities as appropriate.

2.應(yīng)聘條件 Position Requirements

（1）身體健康，吃苦耐勞，責任心強，具有良好的科研道德、合作意識、團隊精神和溝通能力；

（2）具有保護生物學(xué)、動植物生態(tài)學(xué)、動植物關(guān)系等相關(guān)專業(yè)的碩士學(xué)位。

（3）英語讀寫能力良好，口語流利，能承擔會議口語轉(zhuǎn)譯工作，熟練掌握Office等辦公軟件。

（4）工作踏實，積極主動，責任心強，與小組成員和同事保持良好的合作和溝通。

（5）有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗者優(yōu)先。

● The applicant should have a MSc degree or above in a field related to ecology or conservation.

● The applicant should have strong capacities on speaking, reading and writing skills in both Chinese and English as much of the work involves translations, both orally and in writing; the applicant should have the good Microsoft Office skills

● The applicant needs to be proactive and solution oriented, be comfortable assuming responsibilities, and be good at cooperating and communicating with group members and partners.

● Preferably, the applicant should have some experience working on conservation biology, animal or plant ecology, landscape ecology, human or physical geography, plant-animal interactions, or related disciplines.

● The applicant needs to be willing to relocate to Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.

● The position requires frequent traveling within China to attend meetings and conferences.

工資福利待遇按中國科學(xué)院西雙版納熱帶植物園有關(guān)規(guī)定執(zhí)行。Salary and allowance are in accordance with the relevant regulations of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
